First let’s look how the handheld systems did. Sony’s PSP vs Nintendo’s NDS. It’s come down to fanboys (or girls) vs fanboys/girls at this point where both sides will stubbornly claim that their favorite lastest gen handheld is supreme without budging. Where can we get an honest review about it these days? Well in terms of cold hard numbers, the NDS is winning out by a lot in Japan, while the PSP is almost even in North America (Not sure about Europe, sorry). But with the newest games coming out, FFVII Crisis Core, PSP is making a come back. Let’s wait a few months to see how the numbers change.
There is always tough competition wi the gaming systems. With the newest Sony generation of consoles, psp and ps3, Sony attempted to not only offer a gaming system, but a unit that includes everything. The PS3 was your console and your computer, the PSP was practically a PDA, with the options of playing games too. Unfortunately it didn’t work as Nintendo’s interactive gameplay won over - though I wouldn’t say it was because of the system itself, but marketing and gaming companies producing competitive games for each system. Microsoft continues to lag behind though..
